The Zorawar (lit. 'Forceful') is a light tank developed for the Indian Army. The tank is designed and developed by the Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment (CVRDE) of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) with Larsen & Toubro (L&T) being the development and production partner. The tank is named for the 19th century Dogra General Zorawar Singh, referred to by historians as the conquer of Ladakh and Tibet and labelled as the "Napoleon of India" for his conquests of several kingdoms in the harsh Himalaya mountains terrain.
